Paticipants at a Gutsy Walk

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR 25TH ANNUAL GUTSY WALK!

For 25 years communities across Canada have come together in a united effort to support each other, raise funds for critical research and increase awareness. This year, we truly saw the strength of our community!

Coast-to-coast, we walked an incredible 21,000+ km across Canada leading up to our first-ever virtual Gutsy Walk on Sunday, August 23rd. We shared stories, inspired our communities, and walked together (virtually) for our loved ones, our friends and for everyone affected by inflammatory bowel disease.

And we’re proud to say that because of the incredible support of Gutsy Walk this year, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada was able to fund five more research projects bringing our total to 19 research grants supported. These projects will further the understanding of these debilitating and painful diseases so that someday soon, we can offer more treatment options and an improved quality of life for people living with Crohn’s or colitis, and ultimately the cures.

Funds raised through the Gutsy Walk have contributed to new content, resources, and programs to help us navigate these new and unprecedented times. Together, we’ve helped six times more people in 2020 than in previous years, we’ve developed 24 webinars specific to COVID-19 and IBD, and have launched 25 new or adapted programs geared to providing patient support.

In total, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada raised an incredible $1.8M through Gutsy Walk, and we saw nearly 8,000 people participate across the country in our first-ever virtual walk!

We look forward to sharing exciting details with you on our 2021 Gutsy Walk in the New Year. In the meantime, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Sunday, June 6, 2021!

Thank you once again for all your support this year of our 25th Gutsy Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada!
