When does online fundraising close?

You have up to July 11, 2022 to collect pledges online and to submit offline pledges to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada's office.

When and how do I submit my pledge form and offline monies?

Fundraising Prizing

How is incentive prizing being awarded?

Participants who raise more than $250 from the time they register to our fundraising deadline of July 11 are eligible to receive gift card prizes. Each year more and more Gutsy Walk participants choose to maximize their contribution to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada by opting out of their prize during the sign up process. We wish to reward your fundraising efforts while acknowledging the growing commitment of participants to improve the lives of children and adults living with these diseases. All participants who raise $100 or more will be entitled to receive a Gutsy Walk t-shirt!

How is prizing awarded?
Participant prizes are awarded based on the combined total of online and offline pledges submitted per participant up until July 11, 2022. One prize is awarded per registered participant.  Please note: general team donations do not count towards INDIVIDUAL prizing as PRIZES ARE ONE PER REGISTERED PARTICIPANT. Learn more about prizing.
How long after the Gutsy Walk celebration will I receive my prize?
Please allow 10-12 weeks following Gutsy Walk for all donations to be processed and your prize to be sent to you.
Do team donations qualify for prizing?
Donors can make Gutsy Walk donations to an entire team using the online system. Team donations will NOT be counted towards INDIVIDUAL prizing as PRIZES ARE ONE PER REGISTERED PARTICIPANT. Team donations will count towards TEAM fundraising contests.

Donations and Tax Receipts

To whom should my donor make the cheque payable to?

Cheques can be made payable to: Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.

Why wasn't my credit card accepted?

Please double check to ensure you have entered the credit card number and expiry date correctly.

Can I make a donation even though I will not be participating in Gutsy Walk?

Yes, you can make a Gutsy Walk donation in your community by clicking the DONATE button.

Can I donate to a team?

Yes, donors can pledge to an entire team using the online system. Team donations do not count towards INDIVIDUAL prizing as PRIZES ARE ONE PER REGISTERED PARTICIPANT. Team donations count towards TEAM fundraising contests.

Why is it asking for my employer when I submit a donation?
We’re asking because some employers will offer employee matching gifts when their employee makes a charitable donation, meaning your donation can go extra far. When you input your employer into the form, our system will check to see if they will offer a match. Then we’ll send you a follow-up email with all the information around their matching gift program, with a link to their matching gift form. If you are uncomfortable with sharing this information, you don’t have to. This field is optional. If you want to check to see if your employer offers a matching gift program, please visit our Employer Matching Gifts page.
When will Crohn’s and Colitis Canada issue tax receipts for Gutsy Walk donations?

Donors who pledge $15+ online will receive an electronic tax receipt by e-mail within minutes of completing a successful transaction. A thank-you note is also automatically generated for all donations. Receipts for offline donations will be sent by the end of July.

I lost my tax receipt, how do I get another copy?
